Want to make your own rocking guacamole? Well it’s your lucky day. Check out this super easy and delicious recipe for a chunky and flavor packed guac.
Ingredients:
- 2 avocados
- 1 lime
- half of a large tomato or 1 small tomato
- half of a white onion
- cilantro
- garlic powder
- salt and pepper
This is the ratio you are looking for, so if you are making with 4 avocados use 2 limes, ect.
Steps:
The avocado is the base and the substance of the guacamole, so you should start there. Slice the avocado in half from top to bottom to easily scoop it out into a bowl.
Mash up the avocado a little, but don’t over do it. We still want some chunks for texture.
After all the avocado is in the bowl, I like to add at least some of the lime juice. Dice a lime and squeeze the juice out into the bowl. The lime juice and salt help keep the avocado from browning and keep it fresh, so feel free to add some salt now as well.
From here, you can add ingredients however you like. I start with the cilantro and dice it as finely as I can. The salt, lime juice, and cilantro are what is going to the guac the flavor pop you are looking for. So you want it as diced finely so its spread through every bite.
Dice the onion and tomato down to your liking. I personally prefer a smaller onion bits and a little chunkier bit of tomato for some texture pop.
If you haven’t already, throw in the cilantro, onion, and tomato. Stir it all in so they are evenly spread out. If you have any lime juice left over, go ahead and squeeze it in now.
All that’s left is to season to your heart’s content. Make sure you get enough salt to be spread through the guac, and pepper to heart’s desire. I like to add some garlic powder to keep for another layer of oomph.
Enjoy!
